Ocean City, MD residents now have an exciting new opportunity to enhance their properties and support the environment! The Town of Ocean City, in partnership with the Maryland Coastal Bays Program, has introduced the Every Tree Counts mini-grant program, offering eligible residents $100 vouchers to plant trees from an approved selection list.
Many of the trees included in the program are native species, which are perfectly suited to our coastal climate. Native trees not only thrive with less maintenance, but they also provide valuable benefits to the local ecosystem. They support pollinators and wildlife, improve water quality, reduce stormwater runoff, and bring year-round natural beauty to your landscape.
Even better, fall is the ideal season for planting. Cooler weather allows trees to establish strong root systems before the stress of summer heat, giving them the best start for long-term growth. This makes now the perfect time to apply for your voucher and invest in a tree that will provide shade, curb appeal, and ecological benefits for years to come.
The program is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis for reimbursements. Residents may apply for more than one voucher, making it a great chance to expand your planting efforts.
Applications are open until November 14, 2025. Don’t miss your chance to participate in this community-wide effort to grow a greener, healthier Ocean City.
